Worth it or Naw?

Today I’m going to take a look at three popular products and let you know whether they are worth it or not. First, a disclaimer, there are some products that I will spend the extra bucks on for my hair and others that I will not. For example, I am more likely to buy a fancy styler than to spend the extra bucks on a shampoo or conditioner. That’s my personal preference, but some products are surrounded by such myth and wonder within the natural community, that posts like this are inevitable.

First up, Camille Rose Naturals Curl Maker. This WORTH IT! With a price tag of around $22, I’ve heard countless naturals say this is out of their hair product budget and question what makes it different from any other gel. Well, this versatile styler is loved by many bloggers and vloggers and for good reason. Unlike other gels, it does not leave flaky residue. It is also not sticky and a little goes a long way, so the bottle you pay for will last for what seems like forever. The other thing that makes this a winner is it is a moisturizing gel. Two words you won’t often hear together. It does not make curls crunchy and while a separate moisturizer is needed, if you jump out of the shower and forget, your hair will not turn into a messy poof ball by the time you make it to your destination. I’ve been using this for about 3 years now and love it, especially in the summer time when I use a diffuser less and air dry.

Next, let’s look at the tgin Twist & Define Cream. tgin falls at a slightly lower price point that Camille Rose and this particular product will cost you $14.99. This was actually the first tgin product I ever tried and to be honest I liked it. However, I did not like it enough to purchase again. There are too many other products out there at a cheaper price point that do the same thing just as well for my hair.

Another favorite among curly-haired ladies is the Briogeo Be Gentle, Be Kind avocado and quinoa co-wash. I tried this a while ago and to be honest, if I was rich I’d buy this co-wash all the time. At $32, it’s a little steep for a co-wash, but for real, it is amazing. So was it worth it? Yes! Can I afford it all the time? No. But if you can, please give it a try, you won’t regret it.
