Benefits of Citrus Fruits for Hair and Body

Citrus fruits are beneficial in many ways to your hair and body.

During the winter months, navel oranges, clementines, Ruby Red grapefruit, blood-red oranges and other citrus fruits are in season.

The most obvious benefit of citrus fruits is that they contain vitamin C, which during this horrible flu season is vital.

Another benefit of these fruits is that they aid in digestion and therefore could aid in weight loss. Everyone has probably heard of someone who has done the grapefruit diet. There is credence to this. Citrus fruits contain enzymes that promote digestion and thus they help burn fat.

So are there any benefits for hair? There actually are. Vitamin C helps build collagen, which is important for hair growth and maintaining length. You will also find citrus as an ingredient in many clarifying hair products and those that claiming to enhance color and highlights.
